Dual-Color LED

The Dual Color LEDs that are provided with the kits have a common cathode. The longest, center leg is the cathode. The second longest leg is the Orange LED. The shortest leg is the Green LED.

Both LEDs have the same current rating but the Green will be/seem brighter. You can put a larger limiting resistor on the Green LED if you want them to both appear the same brightness.

If you drive the Green LED very hard it will appear to emit Yellow or a Yellowish Green light. This will eventually damage the LED.
